In the effort to offer the best possible experience to our soccer communities, the SSC will now require all volunteer coaches to complete a one time, online coaches training course in order to coach. There is a $25 fee when you take the course and the Club will reimburse you once you have completed it. After taking the course, you must keep your membership in the National Alliance for Youth Sports up to date by renewing yearly. With your membership you will receive valuable information from the NYSCA about coaching and working with children. Please follow the instructions below on how to get started and complete the course.
COACHES COMPLETING THE NYSCA ONLINE CLINIC
If you are new to the NYSCA Online Clinics, you will need to complete the
Introduction to Coaching Youth Sports section PLUS a sport specific clinic.
To complete the training:
• Go to
www.nays.org/nyscaonlineclinics
• Click on JOIN NOW - Red navigation button at the top of page.
• Select New to the NYSCA on the drop down box.
• Enter the required information on the Sign Up Page (Payment Page - $25 Initial Level).
• Select a sport.
• Select SHEPAUG SOCCER CLUB as the Chapter Name – Submit.
• You will receive a confirmation email.
• On the Member Login page enter your email address and password – Submit
• On the Main Sports Menu page select Required Introduction to Coaching Youth Sports
• Review each section of the Introduction to Coaching Youth Sports Clinic
• Complete the 15 question Exam.
• Read and acknowledge Code of Ethics Pledge.
• On the Main Sports Menu page select the sport you selected when you registered.
• Complete each section of the sport specific portion of the clinic.
• Complete the 10 question Exam.
• After your successful completion of the Exam, you will receive a confirmation email which includes your member identification number.
• You will have access to your personalized Member Area the day following your completion of the Online Clinic. To access the Member Area, go to www.nays.org and log in with the email and password used to log in to the NYSCA Online Clinics.
